Hygge Moments – Zozie’s February

What’s been hygge for me February- well, bring crazily in love with someone leads you towards special February moments a plenty.

I have been spoilt with treats of craft bits such such as a cute flowers stamper set, a harry Potter sticker book and a Pixar (I love Disney movies) postcard set.  These were special romantic gestures and as such really thoughtful and giving me nice hygge moments crafting and creating (which is one of my best forms of relaxation )

Romance Reading this Valentine’s Day

I love a good read, and its nearly Valentine Day so let’s think romance reads.

‘Man of Mine’ is romantic, but I still like reading romance as well, its comforting and restoring after a hard day, okay I prefer a cuddle but who says we can’t have our real life romance and then read about someones else s, even if its fiction.

Romance never goes out of style, although I had wondered on my book club if the type of book that comes to mind with romance is now less in favour and considered cheesy by some, not me, yes SOME reads ARE cheesy but not all and who dislikes a bit of cheese in there reading…

I have a few recommendations for you that earned there place on my bookcases, and I dont know if you have more you can tell me about that I may not have read, it not like any of us can read everything!

1 Bridget Jones Diary

2 A gift to Remember

3 Miracle on 5th Avenue

4 Please dont stop the music

5 Pride and Prejudice

there are more but these are what spring to mind today and will give you something to look up and hopefully enjoy.

I asked in my book and craft club for any suggestions, – I cant vouch for them myself but here are the suggestions and I appreciate all of you for helping me with this list 😉 hopefully they are all great .

Myriam E Flores Perez

Have you read the Christine Feehan Dark series? Also, Linsay Sands’ Argeneau series?

I’m a vampire fan so both of those series mix romance with vampires. Also, I love that both are quite extensive series so there’s always new to read!

Sandy Dunne

The Bridgerton Series by Julia Quinn and any series by Anne Gracie and of course Eloisa James!!!!

Patricia Marsalek chambers

Anything by Nicholas Sparks. They are not your cookie cutter romance. There is always a deep story told. My favorite is Message in a Bottle.

Chelsea Garret-Kegley

I haven’t read romance books in a long time. But I did recently read Forbidden by Beverly Jenkins for a challenge. It was actually pretty good. She’s a black author & I believe her books are written in that post-slavery/pre civil rights era so it’s an interesting take on the historical romance.

Julie Driver

It’s an oldy but a fav a knight in shining Armor by Jude Devereaux

I love it because it is time travel romance and humor all in one… I do not reread many books but I do that one.

Kyra Wittenauer

Hiding in Plain Sight by Angela Evans.

Katy Marrufo

The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is becoming one of my favorites

Emese Tunde Nyilas

I’m old fashioned: Jane Eyre! And Gone with the Wind. I like heroines who have goals in life other than “get a boyfriend”, and I like heroes who don’t lose their personality as soon as they see a
pretty face (also, heroes who want more in a woman than a pretty face).

Tiffany Meshell

My favorite all around is Outlander. I love the historical aspect almost as much as I love the main characters. The entire series has kept me company for many years!

Lesa Lopeman

Just about anything by Nicholas Sparks. It’s hard to believe his books are written by a man ! Lol

Daphne Leigh Johnson

2nd this!  * this was in response to above*

Mercedes Hughes- Barlow

I like Nora Roberts her female leads all have guts!

Tori Straughn

The Consequences series by Aleatha Romig! They’re not your typical love story. It starts out dark, but has a redemption plot through the 5 books. I absolutely loved them.

Zitta Sommers

To me at least, is a big difference between romance novels and romantic novels 😉 A lot of the books i read has romance elements, but I wouldn’t call them romance novels if you know what I mean

Romance isn’t always a no drama book or only a drama in the will she or wont she realize the hero is crazy about her kind of way, they can be exciting dramatic reads at times, Nora Roberts is an author who I have found like that at times for instance,

Please let me know YOUR favorite in the comments as well, what comes to mind when YOU think romance book? have you read any of these?

Until next time, hoping you have a lovely Valentines Day with your loved one or snuggled up in a blanket with a romance book, (or not or BOTH) have a great February 14th.

It’s not all fun and games

Hi,

Just thought I would write you a little note every so often to keep the updates more often – my longer updates take a long time to plan prepare and do- along with any pictures and tagging of the blog post and hoping lots will want to read it (well, lots to ME )

-I get tired like you all and I have things to do and needs of relaxation. ..it’s funny…doing my blog is something I am loving doing but relaxing is not MOST of what it’s about. But I am trying to be less concerned about getting the posts seen – although I hope you see it!

If you look up info about blogging you will start to see the information roll in… and I’m just doing this as a hobby- as a way of bringing more enjoyment /entertainment out into the world. I’m not making money from it.

I do its as it’s fun and I get nice compliment’s on it that tell me others like it. So if it gives to someone’s day in a positive way then that makes me feel good.

Today I feel so tired- I’ve spent the morning carting armfuls of washing upstairs and folding and putting away LOADS . The washing baskets already nearly full and I keep loads going regularly – where does it come from? – is it almost- only ALMOST – as big a mystery as missing socks from a pair .

I want to read or something now,  I’m concerned my brain won’t let me switch off – but I intend to try.

latest read review here for you

Glad quite a lot have visited to read my latest cozy mystery review. I am reading another but it’s the third and last lighthouse library mystery. More on that another time.

I have an audio book on the go too- do you ever audio?

Hoping my weekend is relaxing and my brain will wind down into relaxation a bit more.

latest crochet update at this time

Wishing you a weekend filled with as MUCH relaxing as you can cram in.

What TV and books might YOU like to watch read – I’m watching The Voice tomorrow I think and the final (?)of Dance Dance Dance.

Would love any comments or shares😊

A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery – do they crochet or knit?

A Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery is the first in a series by Molly MacRae.

I just finished it recently and really enjoyed it – wanted to tell you how I found it as my latest cozy mystery read.

I mean… haunted yarn shop –  gotta be a good premise for a book hasn’t it, its such an interesting idea and firstly I love yarn with my love of crochet see Crochet-A-Long 2017 announcement

or HERE

but secondly in a book ghosts can be fantastic for a story line.

One of the things I can find with a cozy is sometimes the reasons that attracted you to the book are not highlighted in the story as much as you may like,- as they are a very back part to the story BUT here the ghostly yarn shop was brought in enough, although I have to say the yarn shop itself didn’t appear to be haunted!! it was the house that our protagonist was staying in that was. (so a little confused on that one). Seeing as there was yarn (although take note LITTLE of it) I was pleased, and there was a ghost (LOTS of ghost chat ).

Life with Zozie January 2017

Hi all, so good to catch up with you and I thought today I would do a bit of a ‘my latest’ type post, it feels like a good way to say hello and get you up to date with some of what is running around my head.

January is often not an easy month is it, I LOVE Christmas and as such although start the new year with a fresh start mentality I think it still is not the positive boost to me that November and December is, in fact I love Autumn so much and Winter can sometimes feel not as fun BUT I am determined to embrace every single season and its joys and what I love BEST about winter is the COSY aspect.

It is the season for warmth (even if its easy to feel a bit chilly) and for hot drinks (same in Summer though!) and for blankets see Crochet Fun HERE and in my case ‘slankets’ … more on that later.

I wanted to tell you what I am up to, reading, craft and more this January .

For starters…
